Excellence in Laundry Conference Call for Proposals

TOPIC AREAS/CONTENT FOCUS

As you plan your proposal submission, please consider the topic areas listed below, which have been identified as potential focus areas for the conference. While proposals may address more than one area, you must select which one fits best. The example topics below are intended to help you develop ideas, but we welcome and encourage additional ideas.

• Demographics and location
• Financing and valuation
• Leases and business plans

SESSION FORMATS

Session formats for this event allow for a variety of content, materials and methods that match various learning styles. The content must be educational in nature and not a sales presentation. There must be no mention of specific products or brands in the content. We invite proposals that use the following formats:

Presentations

(60 minutes, up to 2 content leaders)

A formal presentation focused on one topic with specific takeaways.

Panel Discussion

(60 minutes, one facilitator and up to 3 panelists)

discussion with one moderator and up to three panelists presenting perspectives around a specific topic.

Interactive Session

(60 minutes)

A highly interactive presentation given by 1 or 2 content leaders, sharing knowledge through collaborative learning.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Program Advisory Committee, made up of board members and volunteers, along with input from CLA staff, will review and select sessions for the Excellence in Laundry Conference.

All proposals are evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Ability to inspire action or provide innovative solutions
  • Originality
  • Overall quality of content
  • Format
  • Relevance

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

  • All proposals must be submitted electronically and include all required information. Upon submitting a proposal, you will receive confirmation.
  • Limit to one. CLA seeks to ensure diversity of thought, and each person will be limited to presenting or co-presenting one session only.
  • The primary point of contact (POC) is the person submitting the CLA will communicate with the POC for all communications including notifications and deadlines. The POC is responsible for sharing information as needed with co-leaders/panelists.
  • All proposed content leaders must be listed and current members of CLA (if in the laundry industry). Proposed content leaders will be reviewed by the Program Advisory Committee prior to acceptance, which will include a limit on the total number of content leaders and their membership status.
  • Use clear, error free Session and workshop proposals require clear and concise titles and descriptions. CLA retains the right to modify titles and descriptions during copy editing for marketing purposes.
  • Avoid all commercial bias. Content perceived by attendees as commercially biased is unacceptable. Any submission that is not educational in nature, neutral, unbiased and free of commercial motive/intent will not be accepted. If accepted, those in violation of this policy may forfeit future speaking opportunities.
  • All accepted content leaders must adhere to published deadlines. If accepted, content leaders must be committed and responsive to working with CLA to deliver exceptional service by adhering to deadlines, to include submitting program materials not less than one (1) month prior to the start of the conference for review/approval and inclusion in the conference app and website.
  • All accepted content leaders must agree for their presentation to be recorded and shared. CLA records all presentations to be shared with attendees after the event.
