Here's a sign I've never seen in a laundromat before.

Such a great idea, will keep the snow out! Wet socks be damned.

    Richard & others,

LOL  This reminds me of some relatives & friends who are nice enough to invite me over to their fancy new carpeted houses for get-togethers for whatever.  I always tell them that I have some clean like new "moccasins" that I will put on rather than the socks that most others are in.  I add the words ... also known as "bedroom slippers" when I announce my non compliance.  So far so good I have not been asked to leave for my less than 100% compliance.

Understand we are in snow - (sand-salt to prevent falls) country.  Not nice to carry in on carpet from shoes & boots left on.  About 6 inches plus drifts came yesterday locally.

I wonder if carpet is as good for laundromats in snowier grittier regions of the country vs non snow LESS grit on shoes areas.  Les ... are you reading?

Michael:  We don't get much snow near our store, but if we were in snow country, I would have a kick-scuff area and still use the carpet so the floor wasn't slippery when the snow that made it in the store melted.
