    Jorge,

Since your employees were processing this laundry as a Wash/Dry/Fold; you are responsible for the color transfer.  Process the complaint as a claim and ask the customer what she thinks would be a fair settlement.

    Jorge;

We have always use a product called "Color Catchers" It looks like a dryer sheet but is placed in the wash only.
Those little things are amazing! They are also produced under other names. We place one of those into every load we wash.
In the meantime. Like Larry said ask customer what they would be happy with then do it especially with a smile on your face.
    And a sincere apology.

    So....

Jorge, how did it go? Did you pay your customer for the damaged clothes?

Sounds like an excellent learning experience for all parties involved especially you & your wdf team.

    Friends,
I treated the clothes in boiling water with potatoes and egg shells. It worked, but not that much.
So, I apologized to the customer and asked her what could I do to make her happy. She said a refund for the service, 80lb. $1.00x lb.
I offered store credit and she was fine with it.
I think it was a good deal and a lesson learned.

    Thanks everybody.
    Jorge.

    Jorge,

Maybe she can make a salad with her damaged clothes.

    Hello everyone,

We had a situation with a self service customer today. Her North Face sweatshirt got some bleach on it. It is possible bleach was left in the dispenser from another customer. She told us the sweater cost her $60 but it is used. How do you normally handle this type of complaint? We do have a sign that says to check machines before using. We want to make it right, but $60 seems quite a bit for one sweater.
    I appreciate any guidance.

It happens. What is that customer worth to you?  Do you prefer the customer complain to other people or online?

I have a customer that I see quite often while I'm there and she kept showing me her clothes after the wash that had all these little white bleach spots on them. She was claiming that the person before her must be using bleach that was causing her spots, but she wasn't asking me for a refund. I told her that although it wasn't impossible it was very improbable as this had never happened ever before. The machines won't retain any bleach residue by design. After 3 or 4 weeks of her constant droning on about it I happened to glance at her soap bottle, which said WITH BLEACH. I pointed to the label and said "I think you better get some different soap".

If it is a machine fault I will absolutely refund. That is what a refund is meant to be for. If it is an abuse of my working equipment such as over soaping or grossly overloading to save money I generally won't refund. There are exceptions of course. Refunds can get way out of hand in a hurry if you let them. I have a posted to the public refund policy that includes a picture of a washer with a window full of soap.
